Overview
The Middletown Library is a 5,500 sq foot library featuring over 20,000 books, DVDs, audiobooks, and more. This branch was constructed in 2013. If the item you want isn't available locally you can request materials from any library in the Lake, Mendocino, and Sonoma Library systems to be sent to your local branch for pick up at no cost to yourself. This shared-use facility also features a community meeting room and a senior center. You can schedule the meeting room by contacting Public Services at 707-262-1618.
The Middletown Library also has free public Wi-Fi, 8 public computers with internet access, a public access printer, and copy machine. There is no public fax.
Seed Lending Library
Middletown Library hosts the Middletown Seed Lending Library, which will lend seeds for free to gardeners. The seed library also accepts donations of saved vegetable and flower seeds to share with local gardeners.
To improve the chances of success for your seed's next grower, donated seeds should be saved from open-pollinated plants, not hybrids, saved from "easy" plants such as beans, peas, tomatoes, and lettuce, or saved from properly isolated plants, and saved from a number of healthy plants. To be accepted seeds should be clean, dry, and properly labeled.
